Known limits — worth reading before you report a bug

• Reminders go out once a day. The job runs at 13:00 UTC. A person added thirteen days before their occasion gets the 7-day reminder first; the 14-day one has already passed.
• Stock counts are per listing, not per variant. The public Etsy API reports one quantity for a whole listing. A scarf listed in six colours shows one number, so the exact colour you had in mind can be gone while GiftScout still shows the item as available. Per-variant stock needs an authenticated seller connection, which a buyer-side app has no business asking for.
• Suggestions are a keyword search, not a recommendation engine. They come from the interests you typed and the budget you set. Vague interests give vague ideas — "pottery, enamel pins" works far better than "nice things".
• Prices are whatever the API returned at the time. Shipping, taxes and variant surcharges are not included, and none of it is re-checked between runs.
• A "no longer listed" flag can be temporary. Sellers deactivate listings while on holiday and reinstate them later.

Common problems

• No reminder arrived. Check that the Settings toggle is on, that the occasion is 14 days out or less, and your spam folder. "Run my reminders now" in Settings sends immediately if anything is due.
• Sign-in bounced back. Usually a stale browser tab. Reload the page and start the sign-in again.
• Search returns nothing. Almost always a budget that is too tight for the keywords. Raise the maximum or drop the minimum.

Deleting your data

Settings → "Delete my account and data". It erases your email address, everyone on your list and every saved idea immediately. Details are on the privacy page.
